Abstract: This page outlines crankshaft sealing flange replacement procedure. Flange installation requires a special (press tool no. T10134 tool) to properly index the crankshaft sensor wheel to the TDC position of the crankshaft.
The crankshaft sealing flange includes the crankshaft rear main PTFE-seal and the crankshaft position sensor wheel as an assembly. Incorrect installation of the flange (with seal and sensor wheel) will resulted in a no-start condition, and an ECM error code(s) (improbable engine speed sensor signal). Oil pan removal is also required as part of this repair procedure.
