Wheel brearing cover plate tightening torque correction - page 420-20 (P983)
REAR SUSPENSION, AXLE SHAFTS
Use wheel bearing tool to remove old bearing and install new bearing following tool manufacturer's instructions.
- Remainder of installation is reverse of removal. Bleed brakes as described in 470 Brakes-Hydraulic.
Tightening torques
- Brake caliper to trailing arm (M12)..........60 Nm (43 ft-lb)
- Brake hose to brake line..........12 Nm (9 ft-lb)
- Brake rotor to wheel hub (M6)..........5 Nm (44 in-lb)
- CV joint to transmission flange
M8 bolt..........42 Nm (30 ft-lb)
M10 bolt..........83 Nm (60 ft-lb) - Rear shock absorber to trailing arm (M14)..........125 Nm (92 ft-lb)
- Stub axle shaft to hub
M20 castellated nut..........300 - 320 Nm (217 - 231 ft-lb) - Wheel bearing cover plate
to bearing housing (M8)..........25 Nm (18 ft-lb) - Wheel to wheel hub..........130 Nm (96 ft-lb)
